Authorities are currently probing the circumstances surrounding a tragic incident that resulted in the loss of two lives and left a third individual critically injured on a Texas highway. The accident occurred around 11 a.m., prompting an immediate response from firefighters in Temple, Texas, along State Highway 36.

Upon reaching the scene, responders discovered that an oversize load had dislodged from its trailer, ultimately crushing a vehicle underneath. The load, weighing approximately 350,000 pounds, was being transported by a fleet, though the specific nature of the equipment remains undisclosed.

The vehicle trapped beneath the load had three occupants, tragically resulting in the deaths of two passengers, while a third individual sustained life-threatening injuries and was promptly airlifted to a nearby emergency room. The complex extrication process to free the driver from the wreckage lasted just over four hours, as reported by Temple Fire & Rescue.

Temple, located approximately 100 miles north of Austin along Interstate 35, was the site of this devastating incident. Despite ongoing investigations, authorities have refrained from disclosing the identities of the victims, the truck driver, or the trucking company involved.

In response to the emergency, Temple Fire & Rescue mobilized 10 units and 25 personnel. However, the cause of the accident remains under scrutiny, and the affected road has remained closed since the tragic occurrence.
